FRANCE Boehringer Ingelheim announced an investment of over EUR 200 million ($235 million) to establish a new vaccine production center France's Rhône-Alpes region. The investment is a record one-off investment by the company in its animal health division's production network, and will enable the firm to respond to growing global demand for the control of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and Bluetongue virus. ISRAEL Nutreco announced it has acquired a meaningful minority share in Israeli start-up ViAqua to aid development of an orally administered particle-based treatment platform that improves resistance to viral diseases in shrimp. The firm is currently focused on developing its technology to combat white spot syndrome virus (WSSV).
